For the 10th year running, MCB has been awarded the title of “Awards for Excellence: Best Bank in Mauritius 2023” by the prestigious Euromoney magazine. The Awards for Excellence are highly prized awards for banks and bankers of significance, and have been in existence since 1992. They were the first of their kind in the banking industry.
Referring to the reasons behind this award, Euromoney recalled the excellent financial performance of the MCB Group, which cumulatively achieved a 41.7% increase in net profits for the 2021/22 financial year and the first six months of the 2022/23 financial year. Net banking income over the same period rose by 24.1%, driven by higher trade finance revenues, the publication also noted.
