End of Suspense, the ambulance plane to transport Navin Ramgoolam to India is expected to land this Wednesday, September 8 at 6PM. The departure is set for an hour and a half later as confirmed by Dr Joomye.

The B738, a Boeing 737, of SpiceJet Limited with registration VT – SGX left India at 8 am this morning. Its mission is to transport Dr Navin Ramgoolam to the All India Institute of Medical Sciences, New Delhi.

The former Prime Minister will have to be on board before the scheduled departure to Chennai, more precisely to Thiruvananthapuram for a technical stopover. He will head back to New Delhi where the Labour Party leader will go directly to the All-India Institute Of Medical Sciences (AIIMS). All arrangements are in place for this ground transfer as confirmed by Maya Hanoomanjee, Mauritius High Commissioner to India.

The former Prime Minister has tested positive for Covid 19 since Friday and has been taken to the Welkin Clinic. His condition is said to be stable, with complications in his lungs.

It should also be noted that the Prime Minister’s Office has given its full support for this transfer to India and that the Mauritian government is covering the costs of this trip.
