The interrogation of Akil Bissessur’s companion continued on Thursday. She was questioned about the various places in her house where drugs were found during the famous search on 19 August. “She was confronted with the photos taken that day as well as the report of the Forensic Science Laboratory (FSL) which confirmed that it was indeed drugs,” said Vimal Rajkoomar, the lawyer of Doomila Moheeputh. He added that his client has continued to maintain her right to silence. “Whatever she says, it will be in Court,” he added. To recall, the continuation of the interrogation is scheduled for this Monday at 10 am.
Intimate videos circulating : “We want an independent investigation,” says Nivedita Nathoo
The members of the Hindu Ladies Council were at the Central Barracks this Thursday. They asked to meet the Police Commissioner to hand over a letter in which they denounced the circulation of the videos and intimate photos of Doomila Moheeputh and Akil Bissessur. “We have submitted a letter regarding the videos. This is an invasion of privacy. It is unacceptable that these videos have not been removed and that there has been no police statement about it,” said Nivedita Nathoo. She added that the Hindu Ladies Council is calling for an independent investigation. “The person did not think of the harm he has caused not only to this lady but to the society,” she said.
