Assault On Henrietta: Three More Arrests Earlier This Week

The elements of  Vacoas CID  have proceeded on Monday June 7 to the arrest of three men who are suspected of being the accomplices of Vishal Sibchurn in the assault of an owner of a car rental company on May 16 last to Henrietta.

They are Trishul Mattapullut, a 36-year-old fitness instructor from Cottage, Doshan Boodhun, 35, living at Esperance Trébuchet, and Krishan Kissoondyal, a 37-year-old painter from Rose-Belle. They appeared in court in Curepipe, and the police objected to their release on parole.

Six other suspects are still in detention in connection with this case namely Jean Hansley Gino Joseph, 37, Mr Beenesh Kumar Heerooa, 27, Mr Darwin Sawmy, 32, Dyan Sawmy, 27, Amritrai Sookhun, 36 and Vishal Sibchurn 47 years old.

As a reminder, on the night of May 16 to 17, Manoj Nundoo, 55, was attacked in his home by a group of individuals, some wearing hoods. Her 25-year-old son was reportedly forced into a car in which he was allegedly beaten up and then abandoned further down the road. The victim’s wife, 53, was also attacked and threatened. In her complaint to the police, she claims to have recognized Vishal Sibchurn who did not have a hood.

The origin of this attack is said to be the rental of a car for which payment has not been made.
