Guy Joseph Ayoung, a 67-year-old man did not survive his injuries. After being hit by a bus on Nicolay Road, the motorcyclist died instantly on Wednesday morning. The inhabitant of Beau-Bassin who was travelling in the direction of St. Croix, stopped to turn right. At some point, the driver lost his balance and fell on the road. The bus, which was travelling in the same direction, tried to avoid him but in vain.
When SAMU reached the scene, they could only confirm the death of the motorcyclist. The victim’s body was transported to the morgue of Dr. A.G.Jeetoo Hospital for an autopsy. The 47-year-old bus driver has been arrested at Trou-Fanfaron police station where he denies having hit the motorcyclist. The alcohol test performed on the bus driver was negative.
An investigation has been initiated at the Plaine Verte police station to shed light on the exact circumstances of this accident.
