A 22 year old security guard filed a complaint against a police officer assigned to the Montagne-Blanche police station. He alleges that the officer led him to believe that he was stationed at the Traffic Branch in Central Barracks and that he could get him a driver’s license for a car and an appointment was made at the Super U in Flacq. The policeman made him sign a document and in turn gave him a sum of Rs 13,000. Tired of waiting, he finally understood that he had been swindled. The Criminal Investigation Division (CID) of Flacq was seized of this case.
During the morning of Tuesday, March 29, this resident of the village of Bel Air Rivière Sèche went to the police station of Flacq to make a statement for a case of fraud where he accused a police officer of being the author of this act committed on January 24, 2022. Around 3 pm, he had gone to Super U of Flacq to give a sum of Rs 13 000 to this policeman after this police officer made him sign a document.
At the beginning of his deposition, the young man gave the history of his meeting with this policeman, which dates back to the beginning of January 2022. This officer, he said, led him to believe that he worked at the Traffic Branch. The young security guard confided to him his desire to obtain a driver’s license for a car. This policeman believed him that he could obtain this license without passing, but against the payment of Rs 13 000.
So an appointment was given on January 24 to conclude this deal. But until now, he did not get this famous driving license. The resident of Bel Air Rivière Sèche decided to go to the police station of Flacq on the morning of Tuesday 29 March to denounce this policeman.
He was to learn that this policeman is, in fact, assigned to the police station of Montagne-Blanche. He joined the police force in 2015 and has been assigned to the Montagne-Blanche police station since 2021.
