The former Attorney General, Rama Valayden who is also leader of the Avengers and Linion Moris, was questioned by CCID investigators on Friday. This followed a letter he sent to the Commissioner of Police concerning the examinations for promotions within the force. He had mentioned leaks, insisted on transparency, and suggested measures to improve the situation. He had sent a letter to this effect to the Police Commissioner on August 20.
He then held a press conference with Mr Anoup Goodary. Rama Valayden said that this was not the first time he had been prevented from speaking. He said that every head of government in the past had tried to gag him. But, he added, they will not be able to change him. Rama Valayden also spoke about the working conditions of police officers. They suffer too many injustices,” he said.
