A 46 year old businessman, living in Riviere du Rempart, suffered a fractured skull after a fall at Bois Chéri Road, Saint-Pierre on the afternoon of Wednesday, April 13. His uncle, who was passing by, found him lying under the porch of a building with a serious injury to the back of his head. The victim was also bleeding from the mouth.
It was on the evening of Wednesday 13 April that his 71-year-old uncle gave his statement at the St. Pierre police station, recounting the circumstances in which he saw his nephew at around 6:30 pm under the porch of a building. He explained that he immediately took him to the hospital in Moka. After he was treated, he was transferred to the Dr A.G. Jeetoo Hospital, Port-Louis where he was placed in the intensive care unit.
The St. Pierre police have opened an investigation to establish the circumstances under which the 40 year old injured himself in his fall.
