St Louis Case: The Office Of CPB’s CEO Searched This Morning

Kreetykant Dosieah, the Chief Executive Officer of the Central Procurement Board was questioned early this morning at the Triangle Reduit in link with the St Louis case. A search was also conducted at his office. He was back at the Icac for further questioning. This exercise is done after the arrest of Amrithsingh Rajarai, former chairman of the technical committee, who awarded the contract to Danish firm BWSC.

Amrithsingh Rajarai was brought to court this Monday. A provisional charge of corruption was lodged against him. He is the former chairman of the technical committee at the Central Procurement Board that awarded the St Louis power plant contract to BWSC.

Amrithsingh Rajarai was arrested and released on parole on Friday.

Today, this engineer was released on a bail of Rs 75,000 and an acknowledgment of debt of Rs 250,000.

Amrithsingh Rajarai was questioned by the Icac on Friday and his house searched the same day.

Amrithsingh Rajarai is suspected to have pocketed Rs 2 million from PAD & Co in connection with the St Louis power project.

It should be recalled that on Thursday, Prof. Swaley Kasenally was arrested and presented before the court in Curepipe, still in connection with the St. Louis case. He was granted parole after posting bail of Rs 75,000 and an acknowledgment of debt of Rs 150,000.
