A police raid made this Monday morning, December 12, at the home of Louis Joël Augustin. A 39 years old bricklayer allowed to seize doses of synthetic drugs and heroin. A sum of Rs 5800 suspected to come from the sale of drugs was also seized. Joel Augustin will be brought before the court of Pamplemousses this Tuesday morning, December 13. He is facing a provisional charge of drug trafficking.
It was around 10:15 am on Monday, December 12 that Joel Augustin was apprehended. This after an operation led by the men of Inspector Manav Jeean of the Anti-Drug and Smuggling Unit (Adsu) of the Metropolitan Police was mounted. This was carried out after hours of surveillance. Information was obtained that the suspect was involved in drug trafficking. The value of these drugs is Rs 20 000.
A search of Joel Augustin’s house revealed fifty doses of synthetic drugs and thirty-one doses of heroin. Pending his appearance before the court of Pamplemousses this Tuesday morning, Joel Augustin has been placed in police custody.
