Paul Berenger said on Saturday that as part of efforts to create unity within the opposition, a meeting is scheduled with PTr leader Navin Ramgoolam this week.
No question of an electoral alliance. For now! During the meeting between Navin Ramgoolam and Paul Bérenger this week, only 3 specific points will be discussed, namely municipal elections, an agreement on the parliamentary works and a common electoral manifest for the municipal elections. This is what Patrick Assirvaden said to the press.
He stated that these clarifications are important to in the wake of the numerous speculations in the press recently about an alliance between the Entente de l’Espoir and the PTr. “For the time being”, he said, “the priority remains an agreement at the parliamentary level and the municipal elections.”
Paul Berenger will then report the outcome of this meeting to the members of the Agreement of Hope, which includes the Mauritian Social Democratic Party, the Reform Party, and the Mauritian Rally of Nando Bodha.
