Must Read

John Olivier Lloyd Lafolle, 41, lost his life early this Wednesday morning, April 13, after the motorbike he was riding collided with a car on the Phoenix/Beaux-Songes Link Road, formerly known as the Sayed Hossen in Sodnac. The body of the Palma, Four Corners resident was taken to the Victoria Hospital mortuary in Candos for an autopsy where his death was attributed to multiple injuries.

The accident occurred at around 5.50am on Wednesday morning, 13 April. The Keeway motorbike driven by Oliver Lafolle was travelling towards Jumbo, while the car, a silver Renault 19, was heading towards Candos. The driver of the car, a 22-year-old bricklayer, is a resident of St Paul, Phoenix.

Police officers from the Sodnac Police Station attended the scene following a request. The motorcyclist was lying on the asphalt and unresponsive. An ambulance from the Emergency Medical Service (SAMU) was called to the scene, and the doctor on board could only confirm the death of the motorcyclist. The driver of the car, who suffered injuries to his forehead, nose and other parts of his body, was given a breath test by an Emergency Response Service (ERS) police officer, which was negative.  He was subsequently taken to Candos Hospital for treatment. At the time of the accident, a police officer observed, the road was wet but well lit.

Lloyd Lafolle’s body was taken to the Candos Hospital mortuary for an autopsy. The autopsy, carried out by Dr Prem Chamane, Principal Police Medical Officer, attributed his death to multiple injuries.

An investigation has been launched at the Sodnac police station to shed light on the exact circumstances of this accident.
