Jagai Promoted To Superintendent, SPs Rajaram And Gungadin Become ACPs

On Wednesday 13 December, the office of the Commissioner of Police (CP) carried out a promotion exercise for several senior officers. As from this Thursday, Superintendent of Police (SP) Krishna Kumar Rajaram, one of the heads of the Central Criminal Investigation Department (CCID), will occupy the post of Assistant Commissioner of Police (ACP), as will SP Gungadin of Police Headquarters. The same goes for SP Frichot and SP Seebaluck, the boss of the Counter Terrorism Unit, as well as WASP Shardaa Boodhoo.

Assistant SP (ASP) Ashik Jagai, head of the Police Headquarters Special Striking Team (PHQSST), has been promoted to the rank of SP. The same goes for WASP Ameeta Ramdour and ASP Govindareddy.

The head of the SSU Special Intelligence Cell, Chief Inspector Seewoo, has been promoted to ASP, as has CCID Chief Inspector Seewoodin.

The Anti-Drug Squad has also seen three promotions, with Chief Inspectors Ahmad Azmi Rohomutally, Manoj Doorbeejasing and Patrice Jean taking up the post of ASP. Woman Inspector Nothoo and Inspectors Sumun, Moodhoo and Sookun, who are assigned to the CCID, have also been promoted to Chief Inspectors.

Speaking to the press, the newly promoted Ashik Jagai, head of the PHQ SST, asked the public to continue to have confidence in the police. He says he is doubly motivated to fight the mafia and organised crime. He thanked the commissioner for the trust placed in me and the members of his team.
