Must Read

He reeked of alcohol, spoke in an insulting manner and could barely stand up. This was the finding of police officers from the Montagne-Longue police station on the driver of a car that damaged part of the wall of the Soondur Munrakhun College in Montagne-Longue. The driver, a 25-year-old policeman from the Criminal Investigation Division (CID) of the Metropolitan Police, Northern Division, was injured and was taken to the local hospital for treatment. The officer refused to take a breath test and to give a sample of his blood and urine for analysis.

The other police officer who was with him was not injured.

It was around 4.20am on Tuesday 7 September when a white Honda Fit car crashed into the wall of Soondur Munrakhun College. The impact was so severe that part of the wall collapsed. The falling blocks also damaged an aluminium door in one of the classrooms.

When the police arrived, the injured driver was still at the wheel.

They were shocked to learn that the driver was also a member of the police force. The driver smelled of alcohol, used vulgar language and could not even stand on his own two feet.
