Must Read

A 48-year-old man driving a government vehicle owned by the Department of Health was involved in an accident in Poudre d’Or late Tuesday afternoon, February 8. The driver was given a preliminary breathalyzer test, which came back positive. He had 74 micrograms of alcohol in his breath. This Petit-Raffray resident refused to submit to further testing. He was arrested and placed in a sobering cell at the Quartier-Militaire police station.

It was with an individual bus that the Ministry of Health van collided at 3:50 pm on Tuesday, February 8. In his statement made at the Poudre d’Or police station, the driver of this vehicle, 62 years old and a resident of Cottage, explained the circumstances of this accident. He was driving on the Royal Road in Poudre d’Or Hamlet at about 3:50 pm. Arriving at the junction of Schoenfeld Road near the traffic lights, he saw a van, coming in the opposite direction.

This vehicle turned sharply to the right to enter the road of L’Espérance Trébuchet. The bus driver said he applied his brakes to avoid a collision. Nevertheless, the left side of his vehicle collided with the side of this van. Both vehicles sustained damage.

The driver of the van was given a breathalyzer test by Emergency Response Service personnel. The test was positive.
