The CID of Grand Bay arrested a new suspect in Grand Bay in the disappearance of the speed boat Ti Canon. He is a young fisherman of 19 years old.
Inspector Thakoor’s team is convinced that the Ti Canon was used to transport a shipment of drugs to Reunion Island.
During his interrogation, the 19 year old man confessed to the investigators that he and his accomplices took the speed boat Ti Canon to fill up with fuel before going to Reunion Island. Still according to the young man, they recovered a package of drugs to bring it back to Mauritius. He also gave the investigators the details of this trip.
The CID of Grand Bay then transmitted the information to the Anti Drug and Smuggling Unit. The investigators arrested a first suspect Jean-François Cassadin who was in charge of the speed boat keys. He is said to have received a sum of Rs50, 000 for this transaction.
To date, the boat has not been found.
