Civil Aviation Technician Arrested For Drug Trafficking

Takesh Ronskie Hanoomanjee, 35 years old, technician at the Department of Civil Aviation was brought before the court of Curepipe on Wednesday, March 2. He is facing a provisional charge of drug trafficking. He was apprehended on the morning of March 1 at his home in Curepipe, following a raid by police officers of the Anti-Drug and Smuggling (Adsu) of the Western Division. Cannabis, hashish, twenty cannabis seeds, a plastic container containing particles of the drug and fourteen cannabis plants measuring between twenty-five and one meter seventy in height.

It is on the basis of certain information and after hours of surveillance that a raid was made at the home of this thirty-year-old in Curepipe around 7:15 am this Tuesday March 1. These policemen of Adsu had to find a paper bag containing cannabis, a piece of paper with hashish, twenty cannabis seeds, a plastic container in which there were cannabis particles. In the yard of this civil aviation technician, these policemen discovered the cultivation of fourteen cannabis plants. They measure between twenty-five and one meter seventy of height.

Cannabis - Drug Trafficking

The weight of the seized cannabis is 292 grams and the hashish is 0.05 grams. After his arrest the suspect was taken to the Adsu office in Rose-Hill for questioning. Takesh Ronskie Hanoomanjee was subsequently placed in a cell at the Vacoas detention center. This Wednesday, March 2, he was brought before the court of Curepipe, on a provisional charge of drug trafficking. As the police objected to his release, he was taken back into custody.
