Our compatriot Anne Murielle Ravina has an appointment with history on December 12. Originally from Rodrigues, the young woman will defend the quadricolor at the final of the 70th edition of Miss Universe in Israel.
How the committee of Miss Mauritius Organization chose you to represent the country at Miss Universe?
With the Covid-19 pandemic, it was impossible to organize a contest to find a candidate. After a vote, the committee decided to send me to this contest because of my experience as Miss Mauritius in 2017 and Miss Mauritius World in 2018.
How did you prepare yourself?
I had online work sessions from Rodrigues. Thereafter, I completed my preparation with various coaches in Mauritius. With them I refined my communication and my approach. Then, I continued my preparation in Los Angeles. There, I met the people who work in the Miss Universe organization. They shared their experience with me. I now feel better equipped to tackle the contest.
How is the atmosphere with the other candidates?
Since I am in quarantine. I haven’t met the other contestants yet. We communicate for the moment exclusively through a Whatsapp group. However, at the airport I met Miss Haiti. We quickly hit it off because we both speak English and French. I am so excited to meet everyone.
In what state of mind are you a few days before the final?
I am confident. But I will continue to work even harder. For that I am very happy to be able to count on the support of the Mauritians and the Rodriguans.
According to you, what are your chances to win the final?
I have prepared well and I know what I have to do. But unfortunately, the final verdict will not depend on me. Only one thing is sure, that I will give my best to this competition. I will give it my best shot.
