A 22-year-old woman from Rivière du Rempart has alleged in a statement made at Goodlands police station that she was raped three times by her 49-year-old ex-boyfriend. He took her by force to his home in Cité Saint Claire, Goodlands, where she was sexually abused three times on Thursday 10 August. The suspect is being actively sought.
In her complaint made at around 7pm on the evening of Thursday 10 August, the young woman explained that at around 8am on the morning of the same day, she was walking near the Mediclinic in Goodlands towards Cité Saint Clair. At some point her ex-boyfriend accosted her before dragging her by force to his home.
She was pushed onto a bed by her ex-boyfriend, who began to undress her before removing her clothes and then indulging his sexual urge for fifteen minutes. After they had put their clothes back on, the forty-year-old took her into his kitchen, where he prepared some food. An hour later, the man abused her again for around twenty minutes.
A few minutes later, a friend of his ex arrived. They got dressed again. At one point, she tried to escape through a window, but was caught and locked in a bedroom. After the stranger left, her ex took her out of the room and abused her again for half an hour.
After getting dressed, she left to go to her mother’s house in Morcellement Saint Antoine, where she confided in her mother. After giving her statement on the evening of Thursday 10 July, she was taken to the Hôpital du Nord, where she was admitted to follow the protocol for victims of sexual abuse.
According to information gleaned by investigators, both the suspect and the victim were drug addicts. The young woman only recently broke up with the 40-year-old man. Goodlands police have launched an investigation into the case.
