Rs 400,000 Worth Of Stuffed Animals Stolen In Saint-Pierre

Two taxidermists, residents of the Bois-Chéri area, Saint-Pierre, each reported a burglary in a warehouse and a workshop located respectively at their homes. The thieves left with several stuffed animals. The loot is estimated at Rs 188 000 and Rs 215 000 respectively. In both cases, they suspect two employees, aged 29 and 30 respectively, of being the perpetrators, and both men live in the locality.

In the first case, a 39-year-old taxidermist made a statement regarding this theft on the evening of Friday, June 3. This theft was committed in his warehouse between April 27 and 15 hours on Friday, June 3 where two deer heads, four tails of Marlin, four hands of monkey, two jaws of shark, seven beaks of marlin and two turtles were taken.

The other taxidermist, 45 years old, reported the theft of four doe heads, five doe skulls, five marlin beaks, eight marlin tails, three turtles and one tiger skin. The Criminal Investigation Division of Moka has initiated an investigation into the theft.
