Petite-Rivière Helper Arrested For Drug Trafficking

Suspicions by police officers of the Anti-Drug and Smuggling Unit (Adsu) of the Western Division that Julien Ismaël Seal Rosalba, a 27-year-old helper living in Petite-Rivière, was a drug trafficker turned out to be true. A raid on the man’s home on Sunday morning, June 26, uncovered cannabis, heroin and synthetic drugs. The total amount is estimated to be around Rs 864 000.

It is around 9:15 am on Sunday, June 26 that this team of police officers led by Inspector Fowdar conducted this raid at the home of Julien Rosalba. The police discovered seventy-five cellophane packages wrapped in cannabis, all weighing 84 grams, a transparent plastic containing six adhesive strips each containing a certain amount of heroin in plastic, weighing thirty-five grams, six plastics each containing fifty doses of heroin, or fifteen grams and fifty-four doses of synthetic drug weighing six grams.

An electronic scale suspected of having been used to weigh these drugs was also seized. Julien Rosalba was brought before the court of Bambous this Monday morning, June 27. He was taken back to the police cell.
