Motorcyclist And Passenger Seriously Injured In Saint-Pierre

A couple ended up in the Dr. A.G. Jeetoo Hospital, Port-Louis late Sunday afternoon, October 16, following a traffic accident. A 37 year old man and resident of Route Royale Beau Bois, Saint-Pierre, who was driving a motorcycle of the brand Keeway, as well as his female passenger in rump, were found on the road around 4:50 pm.  They were transported to the Dr. Jeetoo Hospital morgue for treatment. The state of health of this couple, who live in Cité Sainte-Catherine, is of great concern. The police of the Port-Louis/North division are very concerned.

It was around 4:50 pm this Sunday, October 16, that the men of sergeant Guptar went to the Royal Road of Beau Bois, Saint-Pierre. They found a red Keeway motorcycle lying there. The driver, a 37 year old man and his female passenger, 41 years old, both residents of Cité Sainte-Catherine, Saint-Pierre were evacuated to the Dr Jeetoo Hospital by an ambulance of the Emergency Medical Service. After receiving treatment, they were admitted to the ward.

A witness to the accident, a 29-year-old local helper, told police that he saw the motorcyclist fall off the road at about 4:30 p.m. on Sunday, October 16.  At the time of the accident, the motorcyclist was coming from the direction of Ripailles. His passenger was thrown into a cane field. The driver got up and took his motorcycle to head towards the village of Beau-Bois, but he fell again on the sidewalk a few meters further. It was at this point that police assistance was requested.

The motorcyclist and his female passenger have not been able to give any statements so far. An investigation has been initiated into the exact circumstances of this accident.
