Mauritius – Réunion: Air Austral To Offer 2 Flights Per Week

The gradual reopening of Mauritius’s borders with Reunion Island will take place through a first phase. Particularly to allow international tourists who have received a complete vaccination schedule to stay in hotels on the island from July 15th until next September 30th. In agreement with the authorities and that of the French and Mauritian civil aviation, Air Austral after months of suspension of its activities, indicates through a press release issued on Friday 9th July, that the airline company is able to announce to its customers, the gradual resumption of its direct flights between Reunion and Mauritius. Thus, Air Austral will offer as from the 16th of July, two weekly rotations every Monday and Friday which will be operated by means of its ATR 72-500. This flight program will subsequently expand as the health situation evolves regarding the Covid-19 pandemic. Air Austral similarly indicates that the flights are already open for sale. However, the company recalls that entry to Mauritius is subject to a strict health protocol.
