The President of the Republic spoke in a televised address on Tuesday, November 9. He announced that a third dose of vaccine will be necessary for people over 65 years old if they want to keep their health pass, as well as the relaunch of the construction of nuclear reactors.
A booster campaign for 50–64-year-olds will take place from early December. “More than 80% of people in resuscitation are over 50 years old, so a recall campaign will be launched from the beginning of December for our compatriots, aged 50 to 64 years,” he said. The maintenance of the health pass will be conditional on the booster dose for those over 65 years from December 15.
The wearing of masks in school is maintained. “We need to resume our efforts.” The control of the health pass will moreover be strengthened.
“The control for the application of the pass will be reinforced everywhere. It is thanks to the vaccination, the pass and the barrier gestures that we will be able to continue to live and not to close the activities”. He announces the arrival of “the first effective treatments against severe forms” from the beginning of 2022.
