This is confirmed by this weekly communiqué of the Ministry of Health on this Friday 8th April. The rate of positivity to Covid 19 for the past week is 739, including 81 imported cases. For today, the Ministry of Health has reported 39 cases.
It is visible that the number of cases is decreasing a little more each day. The fluctuation in the number of cases is present but does not exceed the 100 mark. Similarly, in the number of admissions, the count of the day is 24, of which 19 in regional hospitals and 5 in the new ENT Hospital, which has recorded a total of 17 serious patients for the past week. 3 are under artificial respiration, of which 2 are fully vaccinated and 1 partially vaccinated and 14 under oxygen, of which 7 are duly vaccinated, 3 partially vaccinated and 4 not vaccinated.
In terms of vaccination, 1,005,882 people, or 79.4% of the population, received the first dose in Mauritius and 32,206, or 72.84% of the population in Rodrigues, 971,251 people, or 76.7%, the second dose and 31,669, or 71.63%, in Rodrigues where the rate for the booster dose is 13,268. In Mauritius, 606,096 people received the booster dose, that is 47.9%, including 240,166 at Johnson & Johnson, 8,806 at Sinopharm, 2,825 at Astra Zeneca, 87,274 at Moderna and 253,756 at Pfizer. For the vaccination of adolescents with Pfizer, 74 858 received the first dose and 68 074 the second.
