The Department of Health and Welfare laboratories conducted 3,417 PCR tests yesterday, July 19, 2021. The results were obtained late Monday evening.
- 27 cases were detected in COVID-19 Testing Centers
- 35 cases were detected through ongoing Contact Tracing exercises. These patients were already in quarantine on Day 1.
- 1 case was detected in the quarantine center on Day 7.
Contact Tracing teams from the Department of Health and Welfare also conducted targeted screening exercises in 2 dormitories operating as quarantine centers and under strict health surveillance.
It is important to note that the residents of these dormitories are isolated from the local community.
The targeted screening exercise resulted in 305 positive cases.
The residents are all vaccinated against COVID-19.
5 of them have mild symptoms (feverish state) and the remaining 300 patients are completely asymptomatic.
2,418 people have contracted COVID-19 since March 5 and as of yesterday afternoon, 1,290 of them were considered cured and able to return home.
To date, the country has 1,106 active cases of COVID-19.
