He had entered the hotel in search of a client who owed him a sum of Rs 5 million. Intercepted by a security guard and the duty manager on duty, he inflicted blows with a sabre.
Early on Tuesday morning, November 21, Jimmy Marthe went to the Trou aux Biches police station. He was immediately informed of the charges against him. That is, of having attempted to kill two employees of the Le Méridien hotel in Pointe aux Piments. It was around 2.40 a.m. on Monday November 20. The Roche Bois resident had arrived at the hotel and, without being authorized to do so, went straight to reception. After being stopped by a security guard, the duty manager sought information as to why he was at the hotel. Vexed, Jimmy Marthe, who was carrying a sharp weapon behind his shorts, removed it before inflicting blows on the security guard and the night manager.
Another security guard on patrol in the courtyard of the hotel, alerted to the incident by his colleague, informed the Trou aux Biches police station. By the time the police arrived, the suspect had already left. Jimmy Marthe was wearing a gray T-shirt and shorts of the same color. According to the security guard at reception, he was in a state of shock and wanted to meet a client of the establishment, who he said owed him a sum of Rs 5 million.
Jimmy Marthe was placed under arrest before being brought before the Pamplemousses court on a provisional charge of attempted murder. As the police objected to his release on bail. He was taken back to his cell.
