A 50-year-old Portlouisian woman, engaged in the production of detergent products, has filed a complaint against her business partner whom she accuses of kidnapping. This incident would have taken place at the beginning of the evening of Sunday, February 27, when she and her husband went to the man’s home in Castel, Phoenix. The latter, who was arrested during the afternoon of Thursday, March 3 by police officers from the Phoenix police station, was questioned at length in relation to this case.
It is in the presence of a lawyer that this inhabitant of the capital gave her deposition around 12:40 on Tuesday, March 01. In her complaint, she gave the history of the company she runs, which is engaged in the production of detergent products. On Saturday, February 26, she drew up a contract with a resident of Castel, Phoenix to manufacture these products.
She says she gave this man raw products and training for this purpose. The whole is for a value of Rs 100 000. A down payment of Rs 50,000 was paid and the amount due was to be settled in two months. On Sunday, February 27, she and her husband were at this man’s home. A discussion with this partner degenerated and he became aggressive and violent. The latter is said to have said, “repran ou bann prodi ek retourn mwa mo Rs 50 000, toutsuit, aster la eme”.
This man, she says, did not want to listen to reason, although she told him that she does not have this amount. He threatened her by saying, “ou pa konn mwa move, mo pe telefonnn kat dimoun la ek ou pa sorti la”. To prevent them from leaving, he blocked the exit of his garage with his van where the couple had parked their vehicle. The 40-year-old then decided to give him Rs 10,000 and the remaining amount for later. Her business partner became even more violent and demanded to make a payment in check immediately. After his demand was agreed upon, the couple, all terrified, was allowed to leave.
