In Cap-Malheureux, a 35-year-old man arrested with more than Rs 3.5 million worth of drugs by the SST and the ADSU. The operation was carried out based on information obtained by the police. The home of Chris Jonathan Kathan, a suspected drug dealer, was searched.
Police discovered 200 grams of heroin, 2 grams of cannabis, 106 psychotropic tablets (pregatas and pregabalin), an improvised firearm and a 1.22 mm bullet. The items were concealed in a false ceiling.A sum of Rs 5,500, suspected to be the proceeds of drug trafficking, was also seized. Chris Jonathan Kathan is in custody. He will be charged on a provisional basis with drug trafficking.
SP Gungadin, in a statement, said that the suspected drug trafficker is a persistent offender.
