With Instagram’s Upcoming Feature, Users Can Post 60-Second-Long Videos As Stories

Must Read

Instagram, a meta-owned social media platform, will come up with a new feature that will resolve the issue of uploading videos on IG Stories. Currently, larger videos are split into 15-second clips. The new feature will allow users to upload a longer video without interruption.

Instagram users can now “play and create stories continuously for up to 60 seconds,” said an Instagram spokesperson. He further said that videos from now on will not be “cut into 15-second clips.”

Instagram has introduced a set of new features to increase the involvement of users on the platform. This new feature will be more useful for content creators because it will allow them to upload long videos all at once. It would be helpful for even those who give up uploading videos due to interruption.

The company recently announced that regular videos will now be uploaded as reels on the platform and that the length of the reels has been increased to 90 seconds. Users are currently allowed to post 100 stories in a day. However, this new update will reduce the excessive stories uploaded by users on the platform.

“Instagram wants to make video posts more visible on the platform, and that is why the company has been updating the algorithm for some time now,” said Chief Adam Mosseri. Today, Instagram directly competes with TikTok, a popular video platform that is based on short-form videos. Various celebrities, like the Kardashians, do not seem to welcome the changes, as they opined that Instagram should be a photo-centric platform.
