Vimen Sabapati was back at the headquarters of the Independent Police Complaints Commission on Wednesday. He continued to give evidence against members of the Special Striking Team in connection with his arrest for drug trafficking on 3 May. The exercise began at 11am. Vimen Sabapati had begun his deposition on Tuesday. He is accompanied by his lawyer, Melany Nagen.
After completing his statement to the Independent Police Complaints Commission, Vimen Sabapati lawyer, Me Melany Nagen, has presented a motion before the Port-Louis court, asking to be transferred to prison. Me Melany Nagen explained that her client had already spent 70 days in pre-trial detention and now wanted to be transferred to prison. The police will make their position known on this motion next Monday, she said.
