A fatal accident occurred on Saturday evening, June 12 at around 11 p.m. in Plaine-Magnien, where a large cylinder motorcyclist, a Kawasaki, crashed into an electric pylon. The latter was thrown against an electricity pylon. His body was found by authorities almost severed in half and wedged against the utility pole. The deceased is Kavirajsingh Madhoo, 44 years old and from Rose-Belle. The victim’s body was taken to the morgue at Jawaharlal Nehru Hospital in Rose-Belle for autopsy. The police have opened an investigation to establish the exact circumstances of this accident. An investigation has been opened at the Plaine-Magnien police station and the exact circumstances of the accident have yet to be determined.
A few days earlier, a motorcyclist had a fatal accident. The driver of a scooter lost his life on the morning of Wednesday, June 9 at around 8 am. He was killed on the Nicolay Road, Ste-Croix when he was hit by a bus.
The scooter, which was traveling in the direction of Ste-Croix, stopped to turn right. At one point, the driver lost his balance and fell on the road. The bus heading in the same direction tried to avoid it, but to no avail. The SAMU staff arrived too late, the motorcyclist was dead when they arrived at the scene.
The victim’s body was transported to the mortuary at Dr A.G.Jeetoo Hospital, Port Louis for an autopsy. An investigation was initiated at the Plaine Verte police station to shed light on the exact circumstances of this accident.
