Christopher Lagane concluded his first title as winner of the Tour of Mauritius with a fourth victory out of six stages run. He also won four jerseys and the Mauritian cyclists are raiding the different titles at stake.
A yellow jersey that comes to compete for a stage win in the last race of a Tour when he is already assured of keeping his yellow jersey. It’s not unheard of, but it takes guts to do it.
After having won the fourth stage in a sprint, Christopher Lagane won the last stage of the Tour of Mauritius 2021 on Saturday in Sorèze over 54 km. He won four stages in this Tour of Mauritius 2021 and put his name for the first time on the list of winners of the Tour.
In the general classification, Christopher Lagane of Team MCB (Mauritius) won the yellow jersey with a cumulative time of 12:50:00. Etienne Tortelier from Vélo Club de l’Est (Reunion Island) finishes second with a time of 12:54:19. Alexandre Mayer of Team MCB (Mauritius) completed the podium in 12h 54’54.
Christopher Lagane also won four other jerseys: the classification by points, the best young person and the best climber. The green jersey went to Thierry David of VCJCC and Team MCB obviously won the team classification.
