Members of the Reflection Group Emmanuel Anquetil (GREA) have just been unanimously appointed Sada Etwaroo Legiste (Attorney) as Honorary Secretary General of this movement.
He was one of the first members of the first Groupe Reflection Emmanuel Anquetil (GREA) founded in 1996 which led to the creation of the Republican Movement (MR) of which he was the first secretary general.
Sada Etwaroo was also the spokesperson for the movement on Ecology and Sustainable Development which, along with Human Rights, were the fundamental axes of the MR.
Sada Etwaroo was one of the first Municipal Councilors of the MR in 2001. He was the MR candidate for the 2005 General Elections in constituency number 16 (Vacoas Floreal). He had acted as special advisor to the Ministry of the Environment in 2012 and was also the Chairperson of the Substaminale Index Committee under Maurice Île Durable.
Sada Etwaroo and his GREA friends want a political alternative for radical changes in society including new economic, social, and ecological justice. He militates for a participatory, direct and citizen democracy, and is against all forms of oppression, exploitation, discrimination, prejudice and against corruption and lack of transparency in public management.
GREA was relaunched after the events of Wakashio and it was one of the main initiators to bring together ex-members of the MR and a team of young people and intellectuals who want to do politics differently.
GREA is planning to launch an Academy for the political training of young people.
