Pointe Aux Sables: A Mason Arrested For Drug Trafficking

Jean Noël Guillaume, a 44 year old bricklayer who was suspected of being involved in drug trafficking was arrested this Saturday morning, October 2, while walking in one of the streets of Pointe aux Sables. He was then taken to his home in Jean Blaise Street, Pointe aux Sables where a search was made. This exercise allowed to discover 2.1 kilos of cannabis, a bag containing 83.5 grams of cannabis and 1044 seeds of this drug. The whole is estimated to be worth about Rs 2.3 million.

Drug Trafficking

It is around 10 am this Saturday October 2 that Jean Noël Guillaume was stopped by the Alpha 3 team of the Anti-Drug and Smuggling Unit (Adsu) of the Metropolitan Police, while he was walking in the area of Pointe aux Sables. His arrest was made by the men of Inspector Jauforally and Sergeants Yan Sung Fong and Korrimboccus.  This individual who was suspected of being involved in drug trafficking was placed under surveillance. This was after information was obtained that he is involved in illegal activities.

The suspect was then taken to his home at Jean Blaise Street, Point aux Sables for a search. The search revealed drugs, cannabis seeds and a sum of Rs 68,000 suspected to be from the sale of these drugs.  Jean Noël Guillaume was then taken to the Adsu office at the police headquarters for questioning.

Drug Trafficking

The suspect was placed in detention on the order of the police superintendent, Enrico Imemboccus. This Sunday, October 3, he will be presented before the Bail and Remand Court before being brought again on Monday morning, October 4, at the Bambous court on a provisional charge of drug trafficking.
