A resident of Rue Canal, Plaine-Verte was admitted to the Dr A.G Jeetoo Hospital, Port-Louis on Wednesday 17 August after falling on the pavement of Route des Pamplemousses in Plaine-Verte. The 70 year old woman, who suffered injuries to the left side of her head and shoulder, was evacuated to the hospital in an ambulance of the Emergency Medical Service (SAMU).
It was shortly before 9am on Wednesday 17 August that the SAMU switchboard received a request concerning a female bystander who had been injured on Route des Pamplemousses Plaine-Verte near the Saoud tobacco shop. An ambulance was immediately dispatched to the scene. A woman lying on the left side of the pavement was bleeding profusely from the left side of her head and was also complaining of shoulder pain. It appears that the victim slipped on the pavement and fell.
The septuagenarian was taken care of by the Samu staff before being transported to the Dr Jeetoo Hospital. She was treated before being admitted to the ward.
