Kan Chan Kin: An Ecological Exhibition In November

Must Read

Kan Chan Kin has more than one string to his bow. The man who made a name for himself as a DJ and then as a brand designer is currently preparing an exhibition on the manufacture of musical instruments from waste. Sponsored by the French Development Agency (AFD), the exhibition will be on display in mid-November at the Caudan Arts Centre in Port-Louis. Meeting.

Reunion Island. That’s where it all began. It was 2006 and Kan flew there to study economics and finance at university. While there, he fell in love with electro music and made it his sweetheart by becoming a DJ. Back in Mauritius, he started to play at the turntable and also started to do events.

But in the meantime, there is one thing he is passionate about: fashion. The beaubassinois then created the clothing brand Endjoy.

He then chose to dedicate his life to protecting the environment. “I really enjoyed getting together with friends to jam in the middle of nature. This awakened my ecological instincts and I started to make musical instruments from recycled objects. My instruments quickly appealed to young and old alike and I was invited to participate in the Tedx Talks conference and was featured on CNN.

Recently approached by the AFD, Kan will soon hold an exhibition at the Caudan Arts Centre: “The exhibition will focus on musical instruments made from waste. The public will be able to discover all that can be done with recycled objects. As admission is free, I invite Mauritians to come in large numbers.
