Must Read

Yesh Sookhoo, 23 years old also known as Roy, who was a waiter, died of sepsis. This is what was revealed by the autopsy performed late in the afternoon of Sunday, October 31 at the morgue of the Dr. A.G. Jeetoo Hospital, Port Louis. This resident of Roches-Noires succumbed to his injuries on Saturday, October 30, following a motorcycle accident that occurred four months ago, on the evening of Tuesday, June 22, along the Forbach to Cottage Road.

On the day of the accident, at approximately 7:55 p.m., Yesh Sookhoo, who was riding a Motrac motorcycle, crashed into the rear of another motorcycle. The Suzuki motorcycle was driven by a 47-year-old bus driver from Triolet Bus Service who lives on Rivière du Rempart. After this collision, the young motorcyclist lost control of his two-wheeled vehicle and collided head-on with a pile of rocks on the left side of the road in a cane field.

Yesh Sookhoo was seriously injured and was rushed to the northern hospital in an Emergency Medical Service ambulance. The bus driver was taken to the same hospital by his relatives. After treatment, Yesh Sookhoo was admitted to the intensive care unit, while the driver was admitted to the ward. The driver was discharged four days later.

On September 15, Yesh Sookhoo was transferred to the Neuro High Care ward of the Dr. A.G. Jeetoo Hospital in Port Louis. On Monday October 25, he tested positive for Covid-19 following an antigenic test. The same day, he was transferred to ward 3.2 at the same hospital before being transferred to the North Hospital where he was placed in isolation in ward 1.5.

Yesh Sookhoo breathed his last around 5:30 p.m. on Saturday, October 30. An autopsy performed late in the afternoon of Sunday, October 31 at the Dr. Jeetoo Hospital morgue by Dr. Ananda Sunnassee, Police Medical Officer, attributed his death to sepsis. Yesh Sookhoo’s funeral was held this Sunday, October 31 at 2:00 pm. He was cremated at Laventure.
