Eastern Resident Drowns In Blue-Bay

What was supposed to be a day of celebration turned into a day of mourning for the Vigoureux family. Jean Marie Vigoureux, 29 years old and living in Pont Praslin, Mare d’Australia, lost his life in the lagoon of Blue-Bay on Christmas Day, December 25. After finding himself in trouble, he was pulled out of the water by volunteers. The personnel of the Emergency Medical Service (SAMU) were called to the scene to give him first aid. The doctor on board unfortunately had to declare his death.

It was around 3:25 pm on December 25, that police officers from the Bleu-Bay police station were called to the public beach after a swimmer was pulled out of the water by volunteers. The victim, Jean Marie Vigoureux, was lying on the beach. The SAMU, which was alerted, was quick to arrive and first aid was provided. But, her death was noted at 15:58.

The body of this inhabitant of Mare d’Australia was subsequently transported to the morgue of the Victoria Hospital in Candos to be autopsied. This one practiced by Dr. Sudesh Kumar Gungadin, head of the forensic department of the police, attributed his death to asphyxia due to drowning.
