Covid-19 In The UK: Queen Elizabeth II Tests Positive With “Mild” Symptoms

Must Read

Queen Elizabeth II, 95, has tested positive for Covid-19 but has only “mild” symptoms comparable to a cold, Buckingham Palace announced Sunday.

After the contamination of Prince Charles with Covid-19, all eyes were turned to Elizabeth II for several days. Close to her son a few hours before, did the Queen also got Covid?

A few days ago, the Queen had already isolated herself, and her state of health has been worrying for several weeks.

The sovereign, who had recently been in contact with her son Prince Charles two days before he tested positive, will nevertheless conduct “light duties” over the next week, Buckingham Palace said.

The queen confirmed that she and her late husband, Prince Philip, received their first doses of a Covid-19 vaccine in January 2021. But the palace refused to reveal any information about subsequent vaccinations, citing medical confidentiality.

The Queen’s health has been under scrutiny since late last year, when she withdrew from public events on the advice of her doctors to rest after an overnight stay in hospital for an undisclosed reason. Concern has been rekindled in recent days as several family members have gone into seclusion after testing positive for the virus.
