A lease agreement was signed, today, between the Ministry of Health and Wellness and representatives of Landscope (Mauritius) Ltd for the implementation of several projects in Côte d’Or. The Minister of Health and Wellness, Dr Kailesh Kumar Singh Jagutpal, was present at the signing ceremony.
Signatories were the Chief Executive Officer of Landscope (Mauritius) Ltd, Mrs Naila Hanoomanjee, and the Senior Chief Executive of the Ministry of Health and Wellness, Mrs Dalida Allagapen.
In a statement, Minister Jagutpal highlighted that the agreement will allow his Ministry to acquire some 30 arpents of land to implement several projects that were in the pipeline for quite some time. The projects comprise: a modern medical warehouse for proper storage monitoring; a central health laboratory service; a new cardiac centre; and implementation of the Ayush project.
For her part, Mrs Hanoomanjee recalled that Landscope (Mauritius) Ltd is the owner of some 2 000 arpents of land at Côte d’Or. She indicated that a request has been made by the Ministry of Health and Wellness to establish a Health Hub there.
She highlighted that a masterplan was designed for that purpose, which also includes an Education Hub. The Health Hub, she stated, will be located vis-à-vis the Côte d’Or National Sports Complex and the bail will span over a period of 90 years.
Furthermore, she underlined that, with the implementation of several projects, Côte d’Or will gradually become a city. She added that for this project, the Ministry of Health and Wellness will bear all the infrastructural costs and same will apply for the Ministry of Education, Tertiary Education, Science and Technology for the implementation of the Education Hub.
Mrs Hanoomanjee also recalled that a first phase, namely the implementation of the Côte d’Or Data Technology Park, has recently been launched.
