The Minister of Finances, Renganaden Padayachy is ready for his 2022 Budget speech scheduled for Tuesday, June 7. In front of the press on Monday at the Ministry of Finance, he announced that he was “serene, fit and ready. We have achieved the maximum possible for the population.”
The budget is an important turning point not only for the economy of a country but for the daily lives of everyone. At the Minister’s office, in fact, and according to the minister, Monday’s session with the Financial Secretary, his technicians and officers was to fine-tune the Parliamentary speech. “The team has worked hard on this Budget speech. We have had consultations with stakeholders and meetings with Ministers. We are now in the fine-tuning phase. We are relieved and ready for the big speech tomorrow,” said Dr Padayachy, stating that “on the eve of a Budget speech, we work until 10 or 11 pm, but we will try to finish earlier this year, maybe save at least one hour.”
This Tuesday, all the questions will be answered by an attentive and responsible government who looks after the well-being of its citizens. However, the citizens are on edge with all the increases and hikes since the last Budget. The population is simply expecting relief.
