Boat Stranded In Sainte-Rose: Two Mauritians Being Questioned

A fast boat ran aground Sunday night on the rocks of Anse-des-Cascades in Sainte-Rose. The track of a smuggling boat is privileged. According to Reunion media, three men, apparently Mauritians wers seen around 5 o’clock this morning at the nearest bus stop by some inhabitants. They were wanted by the gendarmes. But they did not get very far.  Two of the three runaways were intercepted. It seems that they had hidden in the area. It is said that three Mauritians would have disembarked in the island on board the boat on Sunday evening. The two of them that have been arrested by the gendarmes were hiding in the back of a shop. The third is wanted. The men on board are suspected of trafficking drugs between Mauritius and Reunion Island.
