Alleged Corruption: Two NCG Officers Transferred To The SMF

Must Read

Two former members of the National Coast Guard (NCG), a sergeant and a constable, have been transferred to the Special Mobile Force (SMF) on suspicion of corruption.  It was a video that went viral on the net that forced the authorities to act.

In the video, a young man alleges that he was approached by the two policemen while he was on the beach in Grand Gaube with his girlfriend to take pictures.

According to him, the policemen then explained to the two young people that they were trespassing because the beach was still not open to picnickers. However, instead of the expected fine, the policemen allegedly asked the couple for Rs10,000.

Alleged Corruption

In the video, the man then phoned a person, believed to be one of the policemen, to explain to him to give him more time to collect the amount demanded. However, the man on the other end of the phone refused.

However, according to our information, the authorities concerned are aware of this case. The two police officers suspected of this fraudulent practice have been transferred to the Special Mobile Force (SMF).

A ‘punishment’ that many feels is unjust. For the time being, no one knows if they are guilty or not.
