Must Read

The film producer and wealthy businessman, Alan Govinden died this Wednesday, November 3 in the early hours of the morning in England. The producer of a Mauritian film, Prisoners of Paradise was 66 years old.

Members of his family announced the death through social networks. The statement said that the victim died after a short period of illness. The message also states that Alan Govinden was the owner and founder of AMG International Films and AMG Film Ltd. He passed away peacefully, surrounded by his loved ones.

His name had been mentioned many times in a real estate transaction involving land at Angus Road, Vacoas. In particular by lawyer Roshi Bhadain.

This had pushed the Prime Minister Pravind Jugnauth to leave his reservations. Indeed, during a press conference in November 2020, Pravind Jugnauth confided that Alan Govinden had deposited a sum of Rs 20 million for the land at Angus Road, but that later, he was no longer interested. Pravind Jugnauth added that he had decided to buy the land, but that he had paid Alan Govinden the full amount of Rs 20 million in installments over several years.
