Accidents: Two Deaths On Our Roads

The black series continues on our roads. Two deaths were recorded on the evening of Friday 3 September. Another able-bodied person, Navin Atmah, 41, was mowed down by a car in Ruisseau Creole, Black River.  On the Route Royale in Floréal, Nadarajen Panden, a 26 year old motorcyclist and resident of Candos, Quatre-Bornes lost his life when the motorbike he was riding ran into a traffic sign.

It was around 7pm on Friday 3 September that Navin Atmah was hit by a car on the Royal Road in Ruisseau Creole, Black River. The resident of Tamarin was taken to the Yves Cantin Hospital in Black River where he was pronounced dead. The 46 year old driver of the car involved in the accident was given a breath test. The test was negative.

Nadarajen Panden, who was driving on the Route Royale in Floréal, lost control of his motorbike before it hit a sign on the left side of the road. He was seriously injured and evacuated to the Victoria Hospital in Candos where he was pronounced dead.

Autopsies on the bodies of both victims will be carried out this morning at the Victoria Hospital morgue.
