84 Tasers And Drugs Seized In Palma, Quatre-Bornes

Information was obtained by men of the Anti-Drug and Smuggling Unit (ADSU) of the Western Division that two street vendors, residents of Gaby Lane, Palma, Four Corners, were in possession of prohibited items. A raid carried out at the home of these two men in the evening of Monday, July 11 allowed to seize a total of 84 tasers torches and a certain quantity of cannabis. The two suspects, Prakash Omduth Mangar, 39, and Bhimal Kumar Mahady, 42, were arrested.

It was information obtained by the men of Inspector Fowdar, which allowed the seizure. A first raid was carried out at the home of Prakash Omduth Mangar at around 7:30 pm on Monday evening, July 11. This exercise made it possible to discover a piece of plastic with bubbles in which was wrapped a certain quantity of cannabis, that is to say 18 grams and 6 boxes carrying the labels 1101 of type ‘flashlight’.

An hour later, the same officers went to the home of Bhimal Kumar Mahady. During their search, they found a porcelain bowl with 3.6 grams of cannabis and 78 tasers with an instruction manual.

On the other hand, on the same day at about 9:30 a.m., a team of police officers from the ADSU, led by Sergeant Petit, went to the Trois Mamelles mountain. They uprooted 41 cannabis plants. These plants measure between 5 and 25 centimeters. The grower remains unknown.

Sergeant Mohun’s men arrived at the home of Yovanic Steven Ative, 37 years old, resident of Cité Richelieu, Petite-Rivière, at about 6 p.m. They found a transparent plastic bag with 32 pieces of cellophane paper containing cannabis, each weighing 9 grams and a transparent plastic bag containing 153 cannabis seeds, weighing 2 grams.

The two residents of Palma, Quatre-Bornes were brought before the court of Rose-Hill this Tuesday morning of July 12. They were charged with illegal possession of weapons capable of emitting electrical impulses and possession of cannabis.

Yavanic Ative was brought before the court of Bambous under two provisional charges of possession of cannabis with intent to sell and possession of seeds of this drug with intent to cultivate.
