A 10-year-old girl is traumatized by the behavior of a hotel security guard in Belle Mare, where she, her parents and her brother are staying. In a complaint filed on the evening of Tuesday August 15, she recounted how the security guard committed indecent acts in her presence. Still in shock, she was unable to identify the man. The Lalmatie resident has since been admitted to the Dr Bruno Cheong hospital in Flacq.
It was around 10pm on the evening of Tuesday August 15 that this little girl, accompanied by her father, an IT manager in a factory, went to the Belle Mare police station to report a case of indecent assault. The 41-year-old father stated that he was staying with his family at this Belle Mare hotel. At around 9:30 p.m. on the same day, his daughter confided in his wife. A quarter of an hour earlier, she had found herself alone in the company of a security guard stationed at the hotel. At some point, the 49-year-old Bel Air Rivière Sèche resident began to indecently assault her.
As she was traumatized, she was unable to participate in an identification exercise. The place where the crime was committed could not be examined either, due to the darkness. A policewoman from the family protection brigade of the eastern division interviewed the victim in the presence of her parents. Her father then informed her that his daughter was going to be admitted to a clinic in Moka and that she would give her statement in the presence of a lawyer when her health was more stable. But her admission was refused at this medical institution because it was a case that had been reported to the police.
The girl was subsequently taken to Flacq hospital, where she was admitted to the ward.
