A resident of La Lucie, Rivière-Sèche was seriously injured on Sunday evening, June 5, at the public beach in Palmar. This happened after a driver, with whom he had an argument, drove his car, a green Audi, into him. The 32-year-old victim had to undergo surgery. The man’s condition is considered to be of concern. A suspect has been arrested.
It was through the company of a police sergeant assigned to the Trou d’Eau Douce police station that the thirty-year-old made his statement. He explained that during the evening of Sunday 5 June at around 9pm, he was with his friends on the public beach of Palmar. At one point, he had an argument with a resident of Débarcadère, Trou d’Eau Douce. The latter then got behind the wheel of his car and rammed his vehicle into him.
The thirty-year-old, who was injured, was taken to the Dr Bruno Cheong Hospital in Flacq by volunteers. As he was taken to the operating theatre, he was not able to give a statement. He was later transferred by EMS ambulance personnel to the North Hospital for scanning.
