Opposition MPs met this afternoon in preparation for tomorrow’s parliamentary session. Afterwards, the main leaders spoke to the press. Xavier-Luc Duval said that the Opposition will “demand” that all light be shed on the Stag Party affair and the way in which the Eco Deer Association obtained the lease on 700 acres of land in the vicinity of Grand Bassin.
Xavier-Luc Duval said the Private Notice Question tomorrow will focus on this matter. “If one PNQ is not enough, we will focus on several so that all the light is shed on this matter,” he said.
The Opposition leader expressed surprise that despite all the allegations in the media, there was not a single word of explanation from Maneesh Gobin, Rajanah Dahliah and Rajesh Ramnarain. “The opposition will play its part,” said Xavier-Luc Duval.
The Independent Commission Against Corruption (ICAC) has already opened an investigation into allegations of bribery to facilitate the awarding of a lease for state-owned land near Grand-Bassin.
